Atmospheric Correction Inter-comparison eXercise (ACIX-II) workshop, December 3rd-5th, 2019

Eric Vermote and Jean-Claude Roger co-chaired the Atmospheric Correction Inter-comparison eXercise (ACIX-II) workshop with European Space Agency (ESA) colleagues at ESA/ European Space Research Institute (ESRIN) in Frascatti, Italy.
Sergii Skakun co-chaired the Cloud Masking Inter-comparison eXercise (CMIX) subgroup, Nima Pahlevan (GSFC 619/SSAI) co-chaired the ACIX-Aqua subgroup (Aquatic reflectances). At this second ACIX-II workshop, the atmospheric correction and cloud mask inter-comparison results from 13 different groups from various countries were presented and discussed. The test dataset covers more than 10,000 cases in total over a variety of locations globally distributed using one year of Landsat 8 and Sentinel 2 observations.

CAMSIS-2, July 2019

New system of camera with automation begins testing from a rooftop mount at Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, MD.

CAMSIS-1, June 2019

CAMSIS 1 is now mounted at 123 meters on the WLEF tower in Park Falls, Wisconsin. Four imaging sensors co-aligned to a single POV point of view, in frequencies 470nm Blue, 550nm green, 650nm red, and 850nm near infrared, to capture Reflectance of foliage during coincidence Landsat and Sentinel fly overs. This data is being collected to validate satellite data.
